Indication of progress in a visually described process of tasks

Overall purpose of the criteria

The purpose is to indicate progress in a service consisting of more than one sections or pages that the user needs to enter in a certain order. Progress should be indicated in each step in relation to the complete set of steps. Progress could be indicated by different types of progress bars or in text, like for instance “Step 1 of of 4.”

When testing for compliance of this criterion, the following is used:

1. Manual testing
2. Visual inspection

Visually described process of tasks applies to:

Forms or services consisting of more than one sections or pages that has to be entered in a certain order.

If there are visually described processes of tasks

• If progress in each step is indicated in relation to the complete set of steps, it’s a pass.
• If progress in each step is not indicated in relation to the complete set of steps, it’s a fail.
