About the project

The criteria for cognitive accessibility in the digital environment have been developed in a collaborative research project funded by Vinnova, Sweden’s innovation agency. The project was specifically aiming at developing and testing measurable criteria for cognitive accessibility that could be put to use in standardization and legislation – across the EU and beyond.

The research builds upon a strong partnership between organisations in standardisation, end users with disabilities, the public sector, website owners, web accessibility experts and ICT suppliers. All partners have a commitment to promote a more inclusive digital world for everyone.

The project has also involved external stakeholders in international standardization as well as many individual users with varying abilities and end user organisations.
